History

Edwin Rowland Mood is known as the pioneer pilot who landed his monoplane ‘Moonbeam MK II’ in the meadows that belonged to North Stoneham Farm, thus the Southampton Airport is associated with aviation since 1910.

The construction of Southampton Airport began after the First World War.
